Matilde del valle — Restaurant in Baja California

Ugh, I was so looking forward to this place, but it was a total letdown. The waitress was such a grump, never cracked a smile. All she said to us the whole time, and we were there for over an hour, was "What do you want to eat?" and "What do you want to drink?" She never even checked on us! I had to keep trekking all the way to the bar, which was on the other side, to get drinks, napkins, and ice. Honestly, the place is pretty, like most spots in Valle de Guadalupe, and it has potential. But if they don't fix things, they're gonna lose customers. Graciela was probably the worst waitress I've ever had in Valle de Guadalupe.

And the food? The fried shrimp was a bummer too. It was barely warm, almost cold. The matcha sauce was good, but I couldn't really eat it with anything.

The tuna tartar? You could smell the fish from a mile away. I just can't recommend this place. Such a bummer after driving an hour...

One star for great service on a previous occasion. Another star because my food was alright. They are terribly understaffed, made a reservation and gave us our table shy of 90 minutes later. Food arrived an hour after. Multiple items never arrived. A friend's food NEVER arrived yet they tried to sneak it in the bill. Stayed here with my family, including my 1 year-old baby, and wasn’t able to enjoy my meal because 1) they don’t have toddler highchairs, and 2) it isn’t accesible with a stroller or wheelchairs.
