Tahona was such an aesthetically pleasing restaurant. Very modern and used the earth to be a key feature of the restaurant. You walk in and they have 2 huge boats and sets the stage. The menus were all leather and very nice. We learned that the menus change every few months or so to stay different from everyone. I was feeling excited so we got hella food: Shrimp Tacos, Empanadas, Barbacoa de Res, Churros. The best was the Shrimp Tacos, it had melted cheese inside, and lots of crema sauce. The Empanadas were great too. The Churros were interesting because there was Sweet Cheddar Cheese sauce that you dip the churros in. That was different. The drinks I ordered was a glass of White Wine from Santo Tomas, Mezcal Old Fashioned, Hot Chocolate with Mezcal. The White Wine was chilled and one of the smoothest wines I've comsumed. The Old Fashioned was one of the best Old Fashioned I've had, the smokiness of the Mezcal made it a perfect alcohol. Lastly the Hot Chocolate was super super hot but it also tasted super good with the Smoky Mezcal and Marshmellows. Tahona is a great place in Valle...
Read moreGreat dining experience! Came here for dinner for my brother’s 50th Birthday. Every cocktail I tried was perfect. The flavors were balanced and refreshing. I tried the Pain Killer and one called La Rosario (this I had at the speakeasy which we had limited pre-opening access to). I had the barbacoa, pulpo, guacamole, tostada de fruta de pasión, and flank steak. The guacamole is served with crickets which was a nice burst of flavor. The tostada de fruta de pasión was refreshing and the maracuya sauce you pour onto the tostada has a spicy kick which balances the flavor profile of the shrimp. The pulpo with mole was prepared perfectly. It is served with a sauce and corn biscuits topped with mushrooms. The flavor combination paired perfectly. We ordered the skirt steak and asked for it to be cut up. It was a perfect meal to share among the six of us. The ambiance was also great with a DJ playing. Definitely returning and next time we will stay on the property and do a...
Read moreA gem of a spot in Valle no doubt. 2nd time visiting and it surpassed my expectations. If you love Mezcal, this is the spot. And if you like wines from Valle in general they have a killer list. One of many for sure. If you want pure bliss this spot won’t disappoint. Recommend arriving with plenty of time and arriving near sunset.
Perfect spot for a large group with a non-pretentious vibe. I tried the Tiradito de Atún and parrillada (which wasn’t in the menu) and it was a group party hit. No picture of this place will do justice to the actual experience being there. If you can check out the speakeasy or have a Mezcal on top for the boat to wrap the night 👌🏾 or even better do it like our group did and hit up both spots after....
