Bartola — Restaurant in Campeche

This is s tough review to write. We went three days for breakfast here because we liked the good service. I say liked.. the first day was awesome service and great food the second day, great food but the service wasn't as good. The third day was a disaster. We ordered waffles... mine came and it was like chewing cardboard, not even warm. Ellies never showed and he hadn't even delivered her cutlery? There was a large group of people at a table that eaten before our arrival but were cutting some cake for s celebration. Ellies not getting her meal I put down to that. I ordered her waffles again. This time a group of a attractive women came in... once again her waffles never came. Not even her cutlery. I ordered her waffles again and waited ten minutes. (The whole time waiting was over an hour) We finally gave up. Tried to get the bill... no luck waited five minutes. We ended up walking up to the caja. I was presented with a bill, as I suspected the second order of waffles was on it. I make an issue of how my wife hadn't received her order pointing at the table with still only one plate on it. It took them 5 min.to correct the bill. I thought back to our day 2 visit when the service had taken a decline.. yes, two pretty young German girls were seated in out section. So what is our final recommendation...as the waiters are mostly all young males who are easily distracted. For this reason we can't seriously recommend this restaurant as you may or may not, even get your food. One little foot note the tip is included here... lol but I can't say the people that don't get their food aren't...

El menú de la tarde comienza a partir de las 4 de la tarde y cocina continúa sirviendo platillos hasta que se acaben, entre 10:30 a 11:30, después de eso solo continúan con los tragos hasta el cierre, a la 1 de la mañana.

Experiencia:

Pedimos el croque madame. Salsa deliciosa, te preguntan el término en que quieres tu huevo estrellado, en nuestro caso bien cocido. Un platillo que es digno de repetirse. Lo acompañó con un capuchino. El capuchino no es la estrella, se queda corto, pareciera un café americano con leche, no es queja, no es el fuerte aquí.

Chilaquiles de la casa. Al parecer su salsa tiene como base chipotle, ojo aquí, sí es picante, nosotros comemos habanero y salsas a base de este y sí nos hizo "aflojar el moco" como decimos por acá, delicioso pero con respeto para este platillo. Recomiendo acompañarlos con algo refrescante, algún jugo de naranja o algo que te ayude con el picante.

Molletes de la casa. Estos llevan la salsa de los chilaquiles y carne de pastor, doran el queso así que esto en mi caso le da un mega plus. Deliciosos. Recomendación de bebida similar al anterior.

Cochinita pibil. Esta es el único platillo que quedó un poco a deber, esta "bueno" pero fácilmente pudieras omitirlo por cualquier otra opción del menú, pedimos que colocaran su acompañamiento, el frijol, aparte por eso sale sin este en la foto; mi recomendación es no pedirlo y probar algo más.

El jugo VIDA, es una delicia, si pueden pidan grande, me arrepentí de no pedirlo grande.

Jugo de naranja, dulce delicioso.

El chocolate caliente con base de agua es delicioso, se siente casero no diluido. Totalmente recomendable.

Pedí el bowl de fruta y toda estaba dulce, piña, papaya, melón, fresa, plátano, mora, zarzamora, frambuesa.

We went for a special day brunch and we were not disappointed. We were greeted, sat, menu, and order taken very quickly. The staff were quick and welcoming and the breeze from the outside air assisted in the outside heat. The fruit drinks were so flavourful and amazing, we had the zanahoria and a strawberry and cherry drink which was outstanding. We had a espresso and caramel latte (too much caramel for my preference) the food was unbelievable, from presentation to taste we could not find any fault nor did we want to. Huarache and the hotcakes were our order. Outstanding. An amazing place and must visit for any breakfast...
