Yes, the food, view, and service are all incredible. But what is really remarkable about this restaurant is the larger cooperative efforts that they are a part of, which aims to promote the preservation of both culture and the environment. All of the produce is grown locally and organically. Even the salsa was made just one week prior and complimented the food perfectly. I appreciate that they are working to promote sustainability and also pride in indigenous recipes. The beautiful space also offers art classes to the community. The owner was kind enough to share the story of the birth of the restaurant, as well as a hearty sampling of local wines and liquors. My only regret is that I didn't snap a photo of the delicious food! 100%...

So glad my friend and I stumbled upon this place! We received incredible service, were offered to taste every kind of pox imaginable, loved our food, and thought the location was so special and unique! We were even offered to add to a painting the owner has, who he asks his guests to paint on and sign their names on the back. Also, the family explained that they have a nearby farm where they source all their ingredients, as they are trying to eliminate waste and be as eco friendly as possible! What an important cause! My heart left feeling full, as well as my stomach. I would definitely come back if I visit this town again. Thank...

This place was beyond amazing. Everyone at the table loved their food. You could tell the man who served us was so passionate about the creations made here. He came up to us to ask if we'd like to taste-test some alcoholic drinks he made, and you could see the spark and excitement when he talked about it. The overall ambiance and lookout were gorgeous. The lady was just the same in kindness and passion. I overheard them say they don't consider their building a restaurant, more of a place to preserve tradition in food. Again, this place was amazing in every way. I highly recommend...

Some of the best (vegan) food I’ve eaten in Mexico! I had “pepito con tasajo”, a traditional Chiapan dish, and the local maíz and cacao drink “pozol”. The location/views of the lake were also really special. I spoke with the extremely friendly owners, who explained to me their (sometimes challenging) mission to promote local cuisine, and a circular economy, using sustainable, fresh products, including plant-based. This restaurant is a must if you come to Chiapa de Corzo.
