La Casa de Otate — Restaurant in Colima

Food is excellent. To start we had molletes and sopitos. What surprised me was they brought requeson to go with the sopitos. The molletes were huge and the beans were excellent. I liked the crunchiness of the bread. My husband ordered the machaca. He is super hard to please and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was authentic to true machaca which is made with carne seca. He gobbled that stuff fast! My son ordered the sopa de langostino (crawfish). The soup had a delicious taste. Almost like pozole flavor. My other son had milanesa. Super good! I sampled all their dishes. They did not disappoint. All the dishes were served with homemade corn tortillas. Last, but not least, my chilaquiles suizos were outstanding. The best I have ever had. The tortilla chips were crispy and the green sauce was unforgettable. Not spicy at all. I highly recommend this place, but be prepared to wait. Es una joya escondida en la ciudad de Villa de Álvarez, Colima. Incluso si caminas justo frente al lugar, no te das cuenta que es un restaurante. El ambiente es tan agradable y relajante, que parece que saliste de la ciudad. Sentando en equipales y escuchando el agua de su lago artificial correr. Es un restaurante para familias y atendido por la familia propietaria. Su menú es bastante variado, algo para los gustos de todos. Los totopos y la salsa que dan de cortesía no tienen comparación con nada. Recomiendo especialmente: Carne en su jugo, Milanesa empanizada, Sopa de Mariscos. Pero ningún platillo...

Me gustó mucho este lugar, es un pequeño pero muy pequeño restaurante en un patio con mucha vegetación y unas fuentes qué te desconectan del ruido de la ciudad, ubicado muy cerca del jardín central de Villa Izcalli y de fácil acceso por el tercer anillo, los precios muy acordes a las porciones, cuentan con opciones de bebidas sin azúcar lo cual es un 💯, los chilaquiles y enchiladas super recomendables, el lugar no tiene rótulo en el exterior, pero el google maps te lleva con precisión, lo recomiendo ampliamente.
