Allora — Restaurant in Compostela

We had a deeply disappointing experience at Allora. We started with the bruschettas, which were sloppily presented and completely missed the mark — the ingredients were all mixed up, lacking any structure or care. The salame arancini were essentially just rice balls; 90% rice, with barely any trace of the promised filling.

Then came the paccheri al tartufo. The sauce tasted like dirt — no hint of truffle, just a bland, muddy mushroom flavor that felt like a bad joke. But nothing compared to the so-called carbonara, which looked like vomit and tasted even worse — more like scrambled eggs with ham than any carbonara I’ve ever had.

Stunning setting, particularly at sunset. We even had a coati come up to our table, looking for crabs on the beach (because it’s on the beach). Their Italian fare is excellent, and I say this as someone who just returned from a month in Italy. Something to know: their portions are huge, so you might consider sharing an appetizer and/or main course (all the restaurants at the resort serve enormous portions, it seems). Amazing experience at Allora last night. The ride from One and Only was gorgeous even in the rain along the lit up boardwalk. We had a romantic dinner beach side during an incredible thunderstorm (don’t worry they have antennas). Food was prepared perfectly- pasta perfectly al dente. Ambiance and service was exceptional. We felt very welcomed and at home with our server David. We will be dreaming of this place until...
