Tierra Café — Restaurant in Escárcega

They open at 2, but have a page of breakfast food that says "para empezar tu dia." But wait! That is just the Empeza of the irony you will experience. They have this wannabe clubby nightclub attached to it i think called El Martìn. Its' dance music, flashing lights, and yes - security guard with a roped off entrance are hilariously out of place in this little town, and it was totally empty on a thursday night. All that said the people there were very warm and friendly, wanted us to have fun, and the food is decent and plenty of different (though pricier) choices than the typical taco/gringa/torta place, which seems to be all the town offers otherwise. The coffee/frozen dessert drinks looked really really good but we didnt get any. Would have gotten breakfast had you been open in...

Nice place, they can provide you with an invoice (factura) for small orders. It's quaint and service is friendly. Didn't eat there, only had a frappe (iced capuccino) amd it was good. If I ever go back to Escarcega I'll try something else there....
