Barrica de Fuego — Restaurant in Guanajuato

Edit. I want this place to do well, the food is really superior to most restaurants, the grounds are beautiful and top notch. They are still unable to stock everything on their menu though. They are so close to being excellent it’s infuriating they can’t keep things in stock to match their menu. I am revising to 4 stars (from 1). Go enjoy this great place, and we will have to forgive them for being truly lazy about keeping things in stock and disappointing our menu selections. Oh well. Be aware, they never ever answer the phone even though you need reservations to assure seating. Just go and the guard at the gate will call the restaurant about seating. 60% of the time you can get a seat. Going earlier when they open, or later (an hour or so before closing) usually gets seats.

If are going there to see and have a experience in a winery I just recommend not to do it. There is not that much to see or experience. The staff are really nice and helpful but they don’t know that much about wine. They just started the business and hopefully will get better soon. We had an amazing, leisurely and delicious lunch in their outdoor space under a shady tree with views of the vineyards. It was a great way to spend the afternoon as town was very busy that day.
