A simple, clean place a short drive from town, Don Ciro has the best gorditas no doubt. The variety of fillings rotates some daily, and all are delicious. If gorditas aren’t your thing, you can have the same options in a taco or quesadilla. Really nice cafe de olla. They do not serve alcohol, so if you gotta have cerveza with your gorditas, get it to go. Don Ciro himself is happy to converse if he’s there, and he’s a good storyteller in Spanish...

Wonderful. A hidden gem just off the Dolores Highway (Hwy 51). Rare chance to have local Bajio food done right. Certainly not your usual selection of tacos which is what makes it amazing. Every meal is prepared perfectly with an magical combination of flavors. Clean, inviting setting, fast and helpful service, plenty of parking and incredibly inexpensive. Well worth the journey...

Lamento decir que uno de los mejores lugares que conocía en San Miguel de Allende para desayunar y comer ha bajado mucho la calidad de su servicio. Conocí a Don Ciro cuando tenía un solo comal y ahí preparaba todo hasta lo que es ahora. Veo que tiene muchos empleados pero se salió de control que tenga muchísimos clientes, tarde 1 hora esperando mi orden. La comida ya no sabe como antes de rica, la salsa ya parece caldito de jitomate porque ya no pica, el caldo de Xoconoxtle es una burla en comparación del tamaño y el precio.

Lamento decir que uno de los mejores lugares que conocía en San Miguel de Allende para desayunar y comer ha bajado mucho la calidad de su servicio. Conocí a Don Ciro cuando tenía un solo comal y ahí preparaba todo hasta lo que es ahora.
