Macanela is a local restaurant that serves excellent breakfast and lunch offerings of freshly prepared locally sourced ingredients. It’s tucked away in plain sight in a neighborhood near the baseball stadium. All dining is outside under a permanent covering or under large umbrellas, with large trees contributing shade. I loved the place and definitely would come again. The place is nice and cozy, ideal for breakfast or brunch. Everything we tried was tasty and well served. Fruit bowl was huge, the side salad was fresh, we ate our sandwich and even asked two more for our travel back to CDMX. i know this might sound silly but the toast from this place is the best i’ve had in guanajuato. the french toast was great on its own but the ice cream and bananas took it to the next level. the omelette i ordered was slightly undercooked but from what i ate around the edges it was still yummy. the red berry smoothie with milk is my favorite drink on their menu but you also can’t go wrong...
