Casa Colibrí — Restaurant in Hidalgo

This place is a real gem. We only stopped in for a beer after visiting el bosque de las truchas after seeing how well reviewed it was on TripAdvisor and Google but we were so glad we did.

I couldn’t leave without trying the food so I ordered the torta and I have to say that the combination of crusty, fluffy bread and her uniquely delicious and complex pibil was one of the best things I’ve eaten in Mexico in terms of ‘street food’. All I can say if you are a fool if you don’t try this place if you are in the area. We are going back for the salmon tomorrow because if it’s anything like the pibil then it will be out of this world.

Also has craft beers, wines and these are hard to find in this area.

If you visit Huasca, this place is a MUST. Food was delicious, we had cochinita pibil, refried beans, agua fresca and pasta. The cochinita was DELICIOUS, it was our favorite. The pasta and beans were also very good. We are definitely coming back and will try other things in the menu. Price is very reasonable. The hostess was also very friendly and service was fast...

Thoroughly impressed. This restaurant has a magical cabin look. It’s eclectic in decor and in merchandise. The food was great. There are some interesting combinations. I had “nata sopes” which was awesome. I also had Cochinita Pibil, which was moist and juicy and homemade beer! The beer was also something ,very unique and memorable. I recommend this...
