We took a bus to El Tuito from PV and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Rivers, mountains, sea, and oak and pine forests along with the small town and its charming and fully functional public square. This restaurant was on one side and featured a beautiful patio with fountain and garden including singing birds. We inquired of the waitress if they had food suitable for us Vegetarians. She showed us an English menu that had a number of choices and so we relaxed at a table in the shade of the courtyard. We were served complimentary salsa and tortillas and our wait was very pleasant. We ordered an omelette, and stuffed pancakes and it was made from scratch, and absolutely delicious. The prices were very reasonable for a full restaurant. When we paid our bill, the proprietor made a mistake in giving us change. We did not notice. Once we left and were walking towards the bus, He came rushing towards us apologizing and asked if we had really gotten the correct change. I looked in my purse and sure enough there had been a significant short changing. He gave us the correct change and apologized again. We were impressed with his honesty and we appreciate it very much. A great meal in a wonderful atmosphere and the satisfaction that we supported the business of...

I ate poblano pepper filled with Swiss cheese. The food was good and the service was prompt and friendly. The bad news: My Swiss army knife fell out of my pocket when I pulled my billfold out to pay. I didn't notice that until I returned back to my apartment in Boca. Well, it's Friday, same week, March 7th, and I felt like the honest, hard-working folks at El Patio de Mario, if they found my knife, would save it for me. My intuition paid off. As I entered the restaurant, I asked the young woman at the front if anyone had found a cuchillo rojo. She smiled a great big, beautiful smile, turned and stepped over to a cabinet, opened the top right door and produced my knife. I was elated, as much from finding such sweet, honest people as regaining my knife. I ordered camarones a la diabla, and specified "no demasiado más caliente. It wasn't hot at all. The diabla salsa contained pineapple, and it was especially delicious. Mario was the chef, and his wife, Annabel, was there. I read her the Edgar Allan Poe poem, "Annabel Lee" in Spanish before I hopped on the bus. What...
