Amidst the beauty of flowering trees and lush green hillsides of the botanical gardens is this special restaurant. 💯

Staff: The staff went above and beyond to make our visit a great one. The host who helped me carry our stroller upstairs to the dining area, the waiter who served us with a smile, the woman with the dessert and drinks cart who was funny and friendly; every person we encountered was fantastic!

Drinks: Mojito zarzamora/blackberry mojito was the best rum-based cocktail I’ve had in my life so far. 💯Fresh, robust flavor, so smooth. I almost chugged it 😄. The combination of blackberries, mint, lime, and rum. Just perfecto!

Appetizers: Nachos Botánicos were decent. The fresh tortilla chips were toasted from being in the oven and covered with refried beans and cheese.

Entrées: We got Tempura fish tacos and ribeye tacos. The fish tacos were so so SO good! Ribeye were great too. Each came with three different types of tortillas - blue corn was my favorite.

Desserts: The coconut cream cake was really tasty as well. It was like tres leches meets coconut cake. Mouth watering! The chocolate cake was decent too, but not as good as the coconut.

We paid about $90 USD for all of that, including tip. One of our favorite eating experiences in PV during our trip! A must-visit when paired with visiting the botanical...

We just visited this place 3 hour ago. We opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate one of friends’ birthday at the rooftop. And we ask the waiter if we can reserve a taxi in an hour to come back to the town. He said yes but asking 200 peso for deposit( We took taxi to this place it was only 300peso). Then, he told us this money will give back to the driver and we just need pay rest of money to the taxi driver. We trusted him so much and even tipped him for helping. However, when we got into our taxi. Taxi driver said he never got or heard any money from this restaurant and we need to pay full price. This is such hurting and awful experience! Even we called them after, spoke to “ manager” he blamed on the miscommunication between the staff and gate guy which obviously isn’t true. We kindly asked that the money to be donated to the garden fund. I just hope this restaurant staff never treat everybody like this again! I won’t never come back this place!...

Alert: this restaurant scams us to pay “tax” (IVA) which should be included in the menu prices! They trick us to pay the “tax” plus tips!

This restaurant has good food and nice environment (especially if you sit by the patio overlooking the birds). Service was attentive too. It’s almost perfect until they used that old trick to add the “tax” (IVA) onto the total of the bill. We have had meals in all kinds of restaurants in the Puerto Vallarta and throughout the entire state of Jalisco: not one single restaurant would attempt to charge tax on top of the menu prices. Regardless of how casual or how fancy the restaurants we visited, their prices are always the amount included tax. Only this restaurant attempts to trick tourists to pay the 16% as “tax” and still request for 15% and more tips!! I’m so mad that this place did such a scam to rip off tourists and shame the entire tourism industry in the area! ...

Beautiful restaurant at the top of a mountain in the middle of a botanical garden. The views are insanely gorgeous. There were so many hummingbirds feeding on sugar water. Super cute! The service was excellent. They were very attentive and kind with a sense of humor. They started us off with tajin cucumber and these grape like fruit that tasted more like a plum than anything. We had a Caesar salad. It was tasty but the anchovy in it caught me off guard. I removed it because it was too salty for me. Other than that, it was good. The tempura shrimp tacos were delicious. They came in different color/flavored Tortillas. They brought us a a mild n spicy salsa and also an oil based super spicy salsa. I had never had something like it. I loved it. The cielo rojo or as I like to call it, michelada was so good and refreshing. Perfect for the extremely hot day. Overall I had a lovely experience at La Hacienda de Oro. 👍🏼
