Another wonderful restaurant that shouldn't be missed. It was on our way to San Sebastian, just a little ways past Ixtapa. Huge restaurant and the cook by a Lena aka fire oven. True Mexican food can be found here. We both had the Carne Asada a la Lena for breakfast and it is a huge dish, with carne asada, beans, eggs, and I can't remember what they are called, but essentially is is chips soaked in a red or green sauce. Also they offer a coffee called Cafe de Olla, that uses a different bean than the coffee bean and it is smooth, comes with a delicious hard cookie made from the crema they serve. Tortillas are made...

It's a cozy, open farm style restaurant located on the outskirts of Puerto Vallarta, in a town called Ixtapa. We wanted to stray away from the tourist filled restaurants, and this restaurant checks off perfectly. The service was quick. Friendly waitresses. The food was fresh. The tacos de birria were good, served with handmade tortillas from the ladies up in the front making them fresh from scratch. However, I didnt enjoy my taco de lengua. The meat felt gummy and had a offsetting flavor. Other than that, a nice place in the country side away from all...

This restaurant is quite busy. It is very cozy and their menu is quite extensive. They make their tortillas by hand. Their meat is prepared over coal. They give small dessert at the end of your meal. If your tortillas run out, you can ask for more! Meat was yummy! The tortillas are good. Cons-the bathroom was a bit dirty. The waitresses were not very welcoming, and the food (chilaquiles and tongue dish) was a bit cold. The art on the wall was nice.

Five stars for the experience, the setting, the hospitality, and the authenticity. The food was good but simple. Tortillas and meats were all cooked over open fire. We were the only gringos in the place surrounded by Mexican families on a beautiful Sunday for lunch. This was a great experience for our family of experienced diners and travelers.
