We booked a city tour through AMSTAR at our hotel, which concluded with a lunch stop. Upon arrival, we discovered that the included meal offered three lackluster options. I chose the chicken, part of the included meal, while my wife and the other couple on the tour opted to upgrade to steak and lobster. The upgraded meals were advertised at 299 pesos, with a credit for the included meal to offset the difference. However, this was not honored when the final bill arrived. Inflating the bill seemed to be common practice at this location.

The chicken was tough and rubbery, while the lobsters were small, and the steaks were mediocre. My wife gave me her steak because the chicken was inedible. While the flavor was decent, it was nothing remarkable. Compared to the food at the RIU Vallarta, an all-inclusive resort where we were staying, this meal was disappointing.

The total bill came to 4200 pesos for four people, despite one meal supposedly being covered. This wasn’t due to alcohol, as only one person had a beer; the rest of us had canned Pepsi. Additionally, only one person was allowed to pay at the counter and was pressured to add a tip, which he refused since I intended to leave a cash tip on the table.

The waiter followed us back to the table and grabbed the tip from my hand before I could place it. He reprimanded me for not tipping a minimum of 25%, following us to the front counter while grumbling and nearly threatening us about the tip being disrespectful. I finally explained that his service didn’t merit more than I had given and that his demand for a tip on such a deceptive bill was something he should...

January 16th. This place is dead, dead, dead. Six years go it was swamped with restaurant guests, zipline riders and tourists exploring the river and rocks. The menu went from fun attraction fare to high priced sophisticated selections. The highway sign is near impossible to see as it's never been repainted. Now, three tables out of dozens had customers and not a soul was seen enjoying the activities. Ownership/management has ruined it. The only activity was a hand full of cute little kids begging for money in the pothole choked...

Muchos Gracias. We got the filete de pescado fresco al ajo, albeit tasty, not bad but not worth the crazy price. Looking at past reviews, the prices here have become much more unrealistic whilst the quality and quantity of the food has deteriorated and is unfair. It's a beautiful view and phenomenal scenery but apart from that there's nothing else going on or any kind of vibe, even any music and leaves quite a strange and akward atmosphere. I hate to be negative about local businesses, but this was a letdown and over hype...

The Wife and I decided to ditch the family for a lunch date while visiting PV. We jumped on the bus which is 2 for a dollar and got off at the last stop. Which was a little fishing village that you can walk down into. From there we caught a cab to Chicos. We shared the shrimp stuffed avocado and split the burritos. Then we walked around the rocks in the river and the falls. It did take a while to catch a cab back. You are a ways from where most of the tourist go so be prepared. Had a great time at the restaurant.
