Tortas ahogadas Tortalajara — Restaurant in Jalisco

Wonderful place, highly recommend! First off, I recommend either going northbound to get in their place because coming southbound towards the airport is very risky & hard because of traffic & construction. We made it tho but it was very frustrating but worth jt. They are very friendly & helpful. We walked in & were instantly greeted. We sat at a table & our server explained how to order and answered all our questions & explained. We all ordered the combo #1 which includes a hard taco, a torta & a drink. We varied our tacos but all got the carnitas torta & a coke. The tacos come with meat but as they were already fried shut they put the meat on top (side) of it. You have a few options of the fried tacos of potato, beans or another one I can’t quite remember. The tacos are delicious but they pre-make them ahead of time which I understand but they are room temperature (coldish) which I was not a big fan of but still ate it. What the shining star of this especially is their tortas! Where to start? The bread used is the traditional bread that is used for tortas. Many places in the U.S. use kind of a hoagie style soft bread which works but here they use a smaller style that is crispy hard on the outside and soft on the inside. The pork which they called carnitas was not the kind I was familiar but nonetheless it was fantastic! It was more of a cubed smoked loin that was cut up. It was phenomenal. Their salsa station allowed you to add various salsas & toppings. They have little placards stating what is what. She explained that hot (temperature) liquid one is used to smother your torta in order to help soften the bread, which it does & adds flavor. We were all very satisfied. Están bien si tienes antojo de tortas ahogadas o tacos dorados, aunque hay ciertas cosas que podrían mejorar. El pan no estaba muy bueno, no sabía a birote salado, además no le quitan todo el migajon. La carne me gustó porque no está salada y las salsas están ricas, el chile muy picoso como debe ser. Los tacos están muy ricos, probé el de papa y me gustó mucho. Lo que no me gustó fue que debes pararte para servirte más salsa o cebolla o frijoles, deberían poner un poco en cada mesa, sobre todo por la contingencia ya que cuando me acerqué a servirme más salsa una señorita que estaba atendiendo me dijo que para poder acercarme debía tener puesto el cubrebocas, no se si los demás lo hacen pero cuando estoy comiendo yo no uso el cubrebocas y estar poniendo y quitandolo tampoco es buena idea, entiendo la importancia y por esto creo que no es la mejor idea poner una barra donde todo mundo deba...

Muchas gracias por tu interés en nuestra opinión, te comento que la fecha en que se registro nuestra visita a tus instalaciones, el personal que nos atendió nos proporciono un muy mal servicio, servicio de muy mala gana, muy mala manera, no solo del personal de meseros si no también de la persona de la barra de entrega de alimentos, a esto le agregas que se nos hizo un doble cargo por el monto del servicio, comentando que no funcionaba la terminal bancaria, cargos que si fueron aplicados y que se pago ademas en efectivo

En días posteriores se trato de hacer la aclaración vía telefónica pero la atención recibida fue de muy mala gana comentando que no te encontrabas presente y que no se me podía dar respuesta.
