Update: I’ve been back 2 times and every time I think the new dish I’m going to try will be bettter but the food is just meh. I had the breakfast burger and it has no burger? The only meat is two small pieces of bacon. It is a breakfast sandwich at best. The croquet madame is also not traditional at all and weird. The pastries and drinks are great. It is my favorite croissant in town. Stick to that. Also they are slammed on the weekends so make a reservation in advance
My partner and I popped by here on a Sunday morning after a long bike ride without a reservation and this place was slammed! We got lucky and only waited 10 minutes to get a table in their cute back garden. It is true, even from a block away we could smell bread wafting through the air.
The pastries were great!! We tried the cinnamon knot which was flakey, doughy and cinnamony in perfect harmony. The cookie was solid but very sweet.
We ate the chilaquiles and the mushroom toast. I really enjoyed the mushroom toast. It was flavorful and something I hadn’t seen other places. The chilaquiles were good. Definitely above average for merida (we spend a lot of time searching for amazing chilaquiles) but we felt like they were lacking something.
The service did end up being slow. As I said they were slammed. We’d ask for coffee refills 3 times before they finally came. Or one time we asked for a spoon and they brought a glass of water. But we will attribute that to the rush.
Overall, if we are in the area we will go back to...
Read moreI visited the bakery around 10:00 AM, and it was bustling with activity. Despite the morning rush, the staff were prompt, welcoming, and impressively efficient. I had hoped to enjoy the patio seating, but it was completely occupied, creating an atmosphere that felt a bit intense. This is clearly a high-end establishment, situated in what appears to be an affluent part of the city, judging by the clientele. It’s the kind of spot where people go to see and be seen.
I opted for a chocolate croissant to-go, and it was exceptional—easily one of the best I’ve had. Arriving earlier might be wise, as this seems to be a consistently busy venue throughout the day. While the patio is popular, there’s also some indoor seating available. Credit cards/Apple Pay are accepted. The staff’s friendliness and attentiveness stood out, adding to the overall appeal...
Read moreFantastic breakfast place. Ordered an egg over some of their in house bread, I'm sorry I wish I recalled the name of the dish, and it was amazing! Very good portion, too big if you ask me as it had conquered me. The eggs were done perfectly, the bread was probably the best freshly made bread I have tasted in Merida. The flavors all worked well. The service was top notch and very friendly staff. I'm happy that I stumbled across this little gem which I have driven past hundreds of tines and not even noticing it. Price is very fair for the food, service and atmosphere. Can't wait to go back and buy some of their bread and try...
