Cocina Tradicional "Doña Elvis " — Restaurant in Michoacán

I was a little hungry and just stopped on a whim for a bite to eat. This restaurant is the result of family pride and family working together to make great things. I was greeted by a charming gentleman who introduced himself to me as the son of Doña Elvira. Doña Elvira is the continue inspiration for this restaurant with cocina tradicional. Her picture is all over the restaurant along with many, many awards and recognitions she received in her life. Lunch was cooked outside by the family and my server was the most precious granddaughter of Doña Elvira. I had a wonderful, rich lunch of cerdo on the bone in a nice red sauce with yummy beans, blue corn tortillas and rice. With a coke my bill was 70 pesos. The pork was so tender it slid off of the bone. Nothing fancy, but I felt like I was definitely as guest of the family. After eating, the kind owner escorted me across the street so I could catch a taxi back in to town. A true gentleman if I ever met one. Rico y tradicional.

El lugar es como de cualquier negocio en el pueblo, tiene mesas afuera al pie de carretera para ver los árboles y el paisaje, también hay mesas adentro.

El menú es comida tradicional mexicana, el sazón está rico, suelen tener unos 4 guisos: cerdo en salsa roja y negra, chiles rellenos y tortitas de charal (los puedes combinar) y se acompañan de arroz y frijoles, también hay caldo de trucha y para preparar hay carne asada, mojarra y pechuga de pollo, con tortillas de comal, para tomar refrescos, agua de fruta y cerveza.

Comimos 4 personas 3 guisos combinados y 1 carne asada, 2 cervezas, 1 refresco y 1 agua de fruta y fueron $420

El servicio es adecuado y agradable.

En general está bien si vas a Tzintzuntzan a pasear y de vuelta quieres comer...

Comida 100% de casa, bien cocinada, sin nada de pretención. Si vas con extranjeros, deberían saber que es cocina mexicana sin adornos, sin sabores exóticos, de mamá pues. Definitivamente es recomendable. El día que comí allí mi estómago se reinició, llevaba días comiendo comida de turistas, pero aquí fue un festín para mí.
