Arturo’s - 4.8 Stars and 1.6K Reviews: A Disappointing Experience

Arturo’s - at the time of this review it had 1.6 thousand reviews and almost perfect score of 4.8 stars. After a day of racing at Santiago race track, I thought this was a no brainer to eat here. The plates looked good and the atmosphere in pictures looked enticing. Was I wrong? First mistake - We went into the restaurant and there were 2 families, 1- party of 4 and 1 party of 10. There would be a wait time of sort but I thought nothing major since there were a couple empty tables here and there. 30-45 minutes later…..still waiting. Probably closer to 1 hour. The waiters would just pass back and forth. Second mistake - after finally getting seated and now the restaurant mostly empty. No one….. 5 minutes …. 10 minutes …. (Remember, the restaurant is almost empty at this point.). Around 3 waiters had 1 table each. Third mistake - after 10-15 minutes, a waitress finally shows up. Her first words ‘what are you ordering?’. No ‘hello, I’ll be your waitress?’ Or at least ‘how what would you like to start with” (I’ll add this is a tourist location so most people don’t know what they are getting into so most people need some guidance on the process) Fourth mistake - this is a fast one. Picture on here is not available in the restaurant. Fifth mistake - the food! I ordered a chipotle fish and the fish was drenched in oil, the sushi was a monstrosity excuse for a sushi and full of oil. The theme here is their food is oily. Sixth mistake - my waitress, no where to be found. Gone and didn’t check on us. We had to use other waiters. Seventh mistake - one of our plates took a trip around all the restaurant trying to find out who it belonged to.add to that, the fact it took more than 20 minutes for us to receive the sushi and another 20 minutes for the fish sticks, it was a very unpleasant eating schedule. I’m sure I’m missing other issues I am forgetting. I will never return to this establishment. And would ask anybody that sees this to be weary. It wasn’t close to closing time and because of this 2+hour experience which only 20 minutes, was actually eating my schedule was pushed back and I had to drive in Mexico at night.

I don’t ever leave reviews and especially not negative ones because I understand we all have a bad day here and there but this experience...

Voy a ser lo más sincero y lo más breve posible, en la parte de la ambientación y el restaurante en general es bonito muy agradable y muy acogedor, en cuanto al Servicio al menos la vez que yo fui me tocó muy mal servicio no había más que alrededor de unos 7 u 8 comensales desafortunadamente tuve que pedir ayuda a otros meseros que no eran los que me estaban atendiendo, pedí un molcajete Y la verdad lo único que tenía era una presentacion Modesta el tomate estaba tibio al tiempo para ser exacto y sabía como que lo habían lavado con agua de los mismos mariscos la arrachera estaba fría , el queso estaba crudo yo esperado un queso fresco o definitivamente un queso caliente y sabroso, los mariscos en cuanto a los camarones gigantes sin pelar sabían como que tenían mucho tiempo en agua refrigerada, El chicharrón de pescado eso sí no lo puedo negar estaba muy sabroso, No me dieron tortillas tuve que pedirlas y me las dieron casi terminandome el molcajete y para cerrar como otras personas comentan LOS COSTOS SOL ALGO ELEVADOS ESPERO QUE EN UN FUTURO PUEDAN MEJORAR ESOS Y LOS DEMÁS PUNTOS QUE LOS CLIENTES...

Really good service, when I found this place a year ago I told myself I would be back and sure did, the food is fantastic and the drinks are good, prices are reasonable. I ordered the sushi roll and was told with anticipation that it will be a while and it was, the the roll was delicious. I Will be back in my next visit...
