Palax — Restaurant in Nuevo León

Palax had all the ingredients for a great experience: good service, a solid reputation, and a menu that looked promising. But sometimes, one misstep can overshadow everything else. Out of six dishes ordered, two arrived with pieces of plastic in them—a detail that’s hard to overlook, especially on a first visit.

To their credit, the staff handled it well, promptly removing the affected items from the bill. However, when it comes to food, quality and attention to detail should be non-negotiable. A restaurant can have friendly service, but if what’s on the plate isn’t right, it leaves a lasting impression—and not the good kind. Maybe it was just bad luck, but when you're trying a place for the first time, it’s tough to shake off an issue like this.

Would I give it another shot? Possibly, but only with cautious optimism.

We stayed at the hotel next to the Plaza and decided to walk over because it was a nice lightly breezy evening. A friend recommended we go there. It was after regular dinner time, so there were no crowds and noise. This was supposed to be like one of those finer dining. I always understood that when you order food like spaghetti or burgers that it's not like we are used to, but I ordered Mexican food. I was disappointed especially for the price of the food. Esta sucursal es un chiste, segunda vez por darle la oportunidad e igual. Mal pero mal servicio y cocina terrible.

Empezando por la atención, tuvimos que nosotros hablar a la mesera para las bebidas y con el restaurante medio vacío.

Jamás pusieron totopos y salsa al centro de mesa hasta que lo pedí. (Y sólo llevó las salsas).

Bebidas, se me hace exagerado que cobren 55 pesos por una botella de 355 ml de topo chico, no están en San Pedro y tampoco ofrecen amenidades que justifiquen ese precio. (Aparte en la cuenta decia topo chico / con limon) y jamás llevaron los limones, ya de perdido ahí entendería que me la cobran en eso por el limón, pero ni eso.

Los hotcakes venían crudos por dentro, se pegaban en el paladar.

El caldo tlalpeño una Burla, con mínimas porciones de pollo y verduras, era un consomé con arroz, aumentaron sus precios por la inflación, lo entiendo, pero porque castigan los platillos en esta sucursal ? He probado el tlalpeño en garza Sada y Anahuac y nada que ver. (Aparte el aguacate venía con trozos negros y amargos). Más de $110 por ese consomé, no lo vale.

El platillo mixto tal vez fue lo único medio rescatable pero se quedó a deber en sabor.

Definitivamente este Palax no lo recomiendo por nada, la atención es pésima en mesas, la mesera ni para recoger platos sucios y solo la veías paseando, igual para la cuenta, pasaba por la mesa sin recoger los platos y tuve que decirle que retirara las cosas y me diera la cuenta.

En general Palax debe poner atención a esos detalles en todas sus sucursales, sobre todo en cocina, porque tienen demasiada competencia fuera de… y así como abren muchas sucursales, el tiempo los juzgará, ahí está Vips, empezaron a fallar en lo que ahora Palax empieza y ya están cierre y...
