At 10:00 am I ordered a croissant with almonds and certainly expected it to be fresh at that time of the day. To my surprise it was stone hard, dry and clearly not from the same day. The only almond part of it was the almonds on top of the croissant. There is supposed to be a soft almond paste inside the croissant. I could not even cut the croissant with the knife I was given. The waiter told me the croissant was from the same day. Hardly! ! I complained about it and the waiter took the croissant and apologized. I was then expecting him to come back with a fresh croissant or my money back. In fact he came back with the same croissant which had just been heated in the microwave and gave me a sharper knife to be able to cut the croissant. Seriously!!!! Read moreWe drop-in just about every other week to load up on REAL croisants. Usually take home 8 to 12 at a time. These are real croisants ... butter, a little flour, a little yeast, and a lot of air ... melt in your mouth great.
They freeze well, too. Freeze 'em on a cookie sheet for 30 minutes, them bag 'em in a ziplock. They won't crush. Now, you can pull one out, microwave at 60% till soft and warm and it'll be as close to fresh out of the oven as you can get. Yyyuuum, butter!
