Birrieria EL KORA — Restaurant in Sonora

This is the one of the best restaurants in Nogales, Sonora and our favorite for birria. We drive down from the Tucson area over an hour to eat at this place. It's a no thrills place with outdoor seating right off the main road that runs through the middle of Nogales.

Don't expect great service or atmosphere... Do expect great food. We like to start off with consome (soup) and birria tacos and quesadillas. The tortillas are freshly made to order and hot off the comal. And the salsas are flavorful and spicy.

Make sure to get there no later than 12pm otherwise they might run out of birria which happens often when you get there late for lunch. This happened and we tried the cabeza and chicharones which was good. We also tried the ubre (udder) and it was OK, too soft a texture for my taste.

And be prepared to park on the street because their little parking lot only holds maybe 5 or 6 cars...

Of all the delicious places to eat South of the border, this has to be one of my favorites. Traditional old school style tortilla machine right out in the middle, hot griddles and absolutely yummy tacos! If you're visiting Nogales Son then check...

muy bueno y el precio es acorde al producto lo unico es que al ser al aire libre no hay refrigeracion y da mucho calor, fuera de eso esta muy espacioso, limpio y muy exquisito, aunque la atencion por parte del mesero no es muy buena que digamos pero tampoco es mala, un excelente servicio y tienen un horario bastante extendido para ser una birrieria, los tacos estaban muy pero muy bien servidos y con bastante carne, es una muy buena eleccion para comer birria y mas si es entre...
