NorteSur — Restaurant in State of Mexico

The restaurant was recommended to me as one of the best in Toluca. The food, decoration as well as the building are all high quality and good taste was expected and didn't disappoint. I ordered the short rib, which was tender and very well seasoned with the red wine sauce, portion sizes were more than adecuate too. I also ordered a cocktail, el friolento, which tasted a bit like a piña colada to me.

To the negative: We were a table of 7 people and I wanted to make a reservation, as should be the case with a larger group. Unfortunately here the service failed. I tried calling but unfortunately my call never went through and I contacted the restaurant via Instagram. They replied quickly yet they told me I don't need a reservation after 3 pm on a Sunday for a group of 7...yet when we arrived the restaurant was more than full and people were waiting for a table. We waited for about 45 mins (!) for a table and since it was close to the closing hours it felt all a bit rushed. For the price and quality which is standard here, I'd expect a much better service regarding reservations. This is why I rated service with 2 stars, if they can handle that better next time it's a 5/5...

Nice place, great service, the food is nicely presented but it's missing something to deserve a 4th star. I took corazon de filet and the meat was very dry and tastelessly. It comes in a hot plate which is very hot and useless in my opinion, just a show off. No sauce was available, the french fries were nothing special. No salad with the meat, just the meat. The duo chocolate mousse was not memorable, I ate only half and had enough. Maybe my expectations was too high? No sure if it is a cooking issue or the ingredients? May be both, but atvthe end I was disappointed for nearly 3000 pesos...

I went to the restaurant for a family dinner during the match Toluca-America, la final de la liga MX and the atmosphere was great. The waiters were very friendly and took care of each of us. For the occasion was not available the complete menu because the restaurant close at 7 pm and it has been opened for late hours only for the sport event. Anyway the pizza gorgonzola and peers I chose was delicious. Unfortunately they couldn’t serve me the tampiqueña I asked for. They gave me tacos...
