AZUL ANTIGUO — Restaurant in Tamaulipas

Came here a few months ago when we were in Reynosa for a doctor’s appointment. The restaurant is very close -within walking distance- to the International Bridge. The menu offers a good variety of dishes at reasonable prices. We ordered enchiladas suizas and a trout stuffed with shrimp and vegetables. Both were very well prepared and tasted very good. We had a frozen margarita and a beer for drinks. The service was attentive overall. The decor of the restaurant was elegant with some colorful benches to sit on at the entrance. Will definitely consider this restaurant when visiting Reynosa...

It has very nice d'core . The blue theme is not tacky or overly used. The service was quick and professional. As for the food. I can take a guess and say everything is made in house. The lemonade and the hibiscus were tasty. But without ice. The food was also a bit cold for my taste and there was flies that made the experience less than perfect. About $20 a person. Visité el lugar el domingo 22 de junio. Todo iba bien, nada mal. Hasta que llegó mi platillo, pedí unas enchiladas suizas y mi sorpresa fue que estaban mal hechas, la tortilla dura, la salsa sin sabor, el poquito pollo que traía estaba seco y sin nada de sabor, para rematar el “queso” más duro y barato que pudieron encontrar. Me arrepentí enseguida de haber pedido eso, probé un taco a la plancha de uno de mis acompañantes y para mi sorpresa ese sí tenia muy buen sabor y sazón. Quizá la receta de las enchiladas suizas se las dio su peor enemigo.

La actitud del mesero fue amable, sin embargo al final cuando ya casi nos íbamos; estuvo haciendo comentarios sin sentido y dando opiniones personales como si estuviéramos interesados en saber su opinión. Lo que más me molestó es que a tono de burla pidiera el 15% de propina.

Sin duda es un lugar agradable en cuanto a instalaciones, pero la comida es lo que atrapa a un cliente. No volvería a ir, a menos que sea...
