Excellent food, including Mexican, "Tex-Mex" and American offerings. The portions are very large. The ambience is very American, with "Americana" posters of classic 1950's Chevy cars, posters with James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, and American state license plates on the wall. There are huge flat screen TV's showing various sporting events. Their huge Angus hamburgers and fries are the BEST in town and they offer excellent tacos and fajitas and even shrimp. You can order a wide wide variety of beverages including alcoholic drinks. The waiters and management are very kind and attentive and they take excellent care of their customers. The only minor detail for improvement is that their fountain soft drinks taste like they are not mixed quite right or perhaps they are not Coca Cola? In fact, the burger was one of the best I've had in years, and service continues to be friendly and prompt.

Set pretty much in the center of Nuevo Laredo, within an easy stroll of a number of hotels, El Papalote is one of those instantly likeable bar/grill affairs you'll find in most Mexican towns.
