Restaurante Tomatillos — Restaurant in Tamaulipas

Superb. Great service, excellent food.

From the outside, Tomatillos looks like another run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant. Inside, however, it's a beautiful blend of fine dining and high-end sports bar.

Sectioned off into separate dining and bar areas, the decor is plush and the seating comfortable. Service is prompt, welcoming,a dn efficient.

The food here is frankly excellent, with the Mexican-style Carpaccio stealing the show.

Prices are on the high side, but still well within reason, given the excellence of what's on offer.

The food is great, unfortunately the service doesn't match the quality of the product. The waiters lack initiative, they seem distracted, they lack empathy, they don't probe, they are always on the run so they don't watch their surroundings and miss if the customer wants to order something else. On top of that, the food takes a lifetime to be ready. The restaurant is not exactly cheap but all of this flaws, give you the feeling that it is over priced. I was disappointed from my last visit. I had the picaña ordered medium cooked, and it was completely raw. They took it back to re-cook where they decided to slice it . The steak tasted weird like it was just taken out of the freezer and not tender at all. I'm not having steaks here anymore. Do not recommend it.
