El Pirata Mariscos — Restaurant in Veracruz

I was told that if you are in Poza Rica and want to try great seafood this is the place. I am glad that my family brought me here when visiting town.

The place is not a fancy restaurant, however the food and service is top notch. So don't judge this book by its cover. In a way it's kind of hidden because the place is in the middle of a residential area 😐

We had an early family dinner (they close before dinner time) and we were not disappointed. The service is quick and efficient, they keep you busy with some quick side dishes like refried beans and chips while you decide what you are going to order. They also serve alcohol, however since I always go for the food i can't make an informed opinion on that front 😅

Always ask for the special or the catch of the day. We did that and we were not disappointed.

At the end we had enough leftovers that we had food for the next day's meal.

I highly recommend this place and most likely will come back next time...

El Pirata es, sin duda, uno de los mejores lugares para comer mariscos en Poza Rica. Todo está fresco, tanto pescados como mariscos, a precios razonables. Es un lugar informal y limpio. Todo esto es lo bueno. Lo malo es que por estar semi abierto no tiene aire acondicionado. Los ventiladores en el techo no son suficientes para refrescar y ventilar el lugar, peor aún en la hora pico: de la 1:00 de la tarde a las 7:00 de la noche.
