I have always been a loyal customer at La Ola since I arrived in Morocco a month ago. Unfortunately, I recently had a very disappointing and disrespectful experience with one of the workers, Abdusamad.
About 10 minutes before closing time, I tried to enter the pub. He told me I could not come in, which I respected and accepted without issue. I then called my friend, who was already inside, so we could leave together. At this point, Abdusamad became extremely unprofessional and aggressive.
When I calmly suggested that he could have spoken to me more respectfully, he started insulting me and even threatened me physically. His exact words were: “If I meet you outside, I would have done with you differently.” At that moment, I even thought about contacting the police because of how unsafe and threatened I felt.
Several other workers came outside and witnessed the entire scene. I felt insulted, disrespected, and shocked, especially considering I am a regular customer, well known by the staff (including Rita), and have always treated the place with respect.
For a place I once enjoyed visiting, this behavior was deeply disappointing and shameful. La Ola has always been a nice spot, but experiences like this ruin the atmosphere and push loyal customers away. I truly hope management takes this seriously, because no customer deserves to be threatened or...
Read more8 pm after a long day at work, we come the La Ola rooftop for a relaxing dinner. First bad surprise was the alcohol on every table (last time we had dinner there was no alcohol on the rooftop only in the bar one floor under). Then after we carefully selected a nice meal we were eager to try, the waiter comes with a condescending look on his face, which only got worse after we announced our meal pick and of course: "No drinks for us please". He started reciting a list of drinks making sure we understood oh sad peasants that we were, that we didn't have to drink alcohol but could have a water or juice. My wife was like... do we have to drink ? Waiter looked at us again with exasperation. Yes. Let me tell you that the hunger disappeared right away and we couldn't stop ourselves from getting up and leaving !! Disappointing experience. You can thank that waiter for never...
Read moreBad experience – Not recommended I’ve been bringing my Couchsurfing groups to La Ola Rooftop for over two years, supporting the place and introducing it to many travelers. Yesterday, I was shocked by the disrespect I received. I came with my American girlfriend, and a man sitting with Ghita (the manager) followed her when she went to the bathroom. When I confronted him, things escalated, and suddenly I wasn’t allowed in—simply because Ghita didn't like that I stood up to her friend. This is no way to treat people, especially loyal clients.
There’s also an older man who works there—extremely rude, with no sense of hospitality. This place clearly doesn’t value respect or professionalism. I’ll make sure to recommend my international friends and Couchsurfing community to avoid this spot. Casablanca has plenty of better rooftops where you’ll be welcomed, not...
