We have been travelling Morocco for a week and have had some fantastic food. This place has lots of 5 star reviews so we decided to come here during our stay in Dades Valley.
I have never been so disappointed in a meal. The “Moroccan” salad had cheese?! And mayonnaise?! on it. We also ordered a chicken tagine and a kofta tagine. These “tagines” were just Westernised recipes in a tagine dish, with no traditional Moroccan meat, vegetables or spices, just flavourless aubergine, egg and (again) more cheese!!
When we asked the owner (Mustafa) why he’d served us non-traditional dishes posing as traditional dishes, he claimed to be catering to the tourist population. This may be so, and some people may enjoy food that is this bland, but I hope this review can help travellers who are looking for traditional Moroccan food, as you absolutely must avoid this place
