This was the best food I ate in Morocco. That’s saying a lot as I enjoyed all the food I ate in the country and at home the U.S. I refuse to eat at restaurants attached to gas stations. This place is exceptional. We had the chicken tagine and kefta platter. All the meats and vegetables were seasoned nicely and cooked perfectly. The tagine was saucy with good balance of flavors. The kefta was spiced so nicely, grilled perfectly, and served with buttery veggies, yellow rice, French fries, Moroccan salad and bread. I believe they grind and season the meat in-house. We also tried the fresh mango orange juice which was refreshing. And even the harissa was homemade.
I would go back for the food but what made my visit extra nice was the friendly staff. We originally stopped here to use the restroom. As I was leaving the restroom I didn’t see the stone tiles outside had just been mopped. I slipped and fell on my tailbone. The woman who was cleaning helped me up and to a chair where Yunis, one of the owners, gave me an ice pack. After a few painful moments he suggested I might want to go to the local hospital for x-rays to be sure nothing was broken. When I decided to go, Yunis accompanied us to the hospital. He helped with translations, paperwork, and waited with us while I got x-rays. When we came back to the restaurant we had lunch on the patio, which has a nice fence of greenery and shade structures that make it feel more like dining in a garden than roadside. Yunis joined us for lunch and we enjoyed chatting with him and getting to know a bit about him and the family business. Before we left he made sure I was feeling ok and offered to give me a fresh pack of ice. He was warm and welcoming and genuinely caring and helpful.
I highly recommend this restaurant! Just watch out...

We stopped here for lunch on our way to the desert, and unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Morocco. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, yet the waiter took a very long time just to come to our table.
When our order (a mixed grill) finally arrived, almost everything on the plate was cold. We weren’t even sure if they could reheat it properly. On top of that, the food didn’t taste fresh and was far from good.
Between the poor service and the disappointing food, I wouldn’t recommend this place, there are surely better...
