Ocean Star — Restaurant in Gaza Province

We had an awesome day the previous day that left us a little toasty the next day but we returned just to try this restaurant on the beach. Staff were awesome moved 4 umbrellas together to keep the sun of our pink prawn coloured skin. They didn't hv a beer I wanted to try. So we went for a cocktail. The manager owner came to chat to us to make some recommendations. We were a little off from the previous day so though something simple but the menu looked extremely yummy. I opted for the Ocean star chicken, a baby chicken made in a whiskey sauce. Not being a whiskey lover I though well let's give this a try. Have to do somethings I haven't done before. This was the most divine chicken I have ever had in my life...beautifully cooked. Soft and tasty and the sauce. I nearly finished the whole thing. Took a small piece back and made sure all the sauce came with it....

We stayed a couple of days in Xai-Xai beach, and this restaurant was a nice discovery. It is right next to the beach and it has some of the best seafood dishes we tried in Mozambique. We ordered a garlic bread, seafood rice and ocean star dessert. Seafood rice is amazing, it is almost a rice soup, comes inside a ceramic pot, with lots of lobster and shrimps. They also have live music played while you eat or have a drink. It was a nice place to enjoy...

Absolutely outstanding experience!

Ocean Star in Xai-Xai is a true gem. The food was exceptional — fresh, delicious, and full of local flavor. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel like long-time friends rather than guests. The location is beautiful and relaxing, with an atmosphere that captures the best of Mozambique’s coastline. We felt genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our visit.
