Oak café — Restaurant in Maputo

A great brunch and breakfast location for anyone on this side of Maputo. We enjoyed our milkshakes and deluxe french toast thoroughly, however service was somewhat unenthusiastic which notched their score down slightly for me. Ambience is great for a meet up with friends and we’ve previously enjoyed one of the best coffees in the city here, however we believe they may have changed their coffee beans since that time unfortunately. I’ve been to this restaurant before and had a good experience, but this time was disappointing. We sat inside and waited for over 5 minutes, but no one came to attend to us. I ended up going to the cashier to ask for a menu, and eventually, a young lady brought it to our table. After that, she left and never came back to take our order. We waited and waited, but no one checked on us. In the end, I just decided to leave because it felt like we would not be attended with attention.

A lovely cafe in central Maputo. Good food, well presented cafe, and clean and safe.

The prices are more European than African, with my burger being about €11 euro. I was happy with my burger and my friend had a great pancake stack, but the salads and sandwiches of the others in my group were smaller and a little disappointing.

The menu is wide and varied with good drinks options.

The service was a little slow. It took nearly an hour for our drinks to arrive (there were 6 of us but it shouldn't take that long).
