This cheerful covered outdoor restaurant is about 300 meters from the Macuti lighthouse in the direction of the Beira Airport. Look for the metal gate with the âCabana Frankfurtâ sign, and rap on it to be let in.
Restaurante Do Chefe Anselmo (aka. âThe Chefâ) is basically catch of the day, so it varies from visit to visit, but normally expect a wonderful array of prawns, oysters, squid, and fresh fish. When youâre first seated the maĂźtre âd will tell you what is specifically available that day. Most everything is grilled and served with garlic butter and local herbs, chips, and several variations of local piri-piri (local hot sauce). Some chicken and beef dishes. Overall the food is very good (if you like seafood), and portions are generous.
Restaurante Do Chefe Anselmo is family and Muslim friendly. The owner is a cheerful fellow who speaks good English and collects flags
Drinks are the standard range of soft-drinks, local beers (no draft), and liquor from Duty-Free.
Prices are on the high side of medium. You and a friend can eat and drink your way through 10,000 MTC pretty quickly at Restaurante Do Chefe Anselmo. They accept USD and credit card (but sometimes the machine doesnât work). This is a once-per-month, or so,...

Each dayâs menu will be different food and pricing based on what the fishing...

Annoyingly, 30 people had to share 22 people's food, but still had to pay 3500 meticais each, the price for one full dinner. Maybe it's better with smaller groups, but I ate the same quality in other places in the country for a fourth...
