Recently visited eagles and when I saw this place I thought wow, what a beautiful view. However the waiters seem to be very awkward with little knowledge when it comes to their drink menu, one even said when I asked her to recommend a drink she literally said âI donât drink so I donât know.â Anyways I decided to opt for a mojito and my friend ordered a cooler or something of that sort and tell me why when both drinks came to the table they looked exactly the same, the waiter didnât even know what drink belonged to which person. We literally had to taste them to try and figure out what drink was what. I couldnât even tell which one was my drink because both tasted NOTHING like a mojito. We than concluded the drink that had cucumbers was the cooler and the drink that had a little mint leaf at the top was the mojito. I have never seen a mojito as clear as the one they served at eagles, basically what I felt I got was soda water, lemon slices, NOT LIME đ and cute cherry at the bottom as you can see in the picture, letâs not forget the little mint on top. Anyways what I can commend them is their affordable food prices. I order a 400g rump steak with chips for only about N$150. You know the saying, it sounds too good to be true. Trust me on the steak, it really was too good to be true because after a few bites I couldnât eat anymore, they drowned it in some sweet sauce, even though I asked for medium rare I got chewy well done steak. But I really shouldâve known, 400g of steak was way too good to be true.
Would I go back to eagles? Yes for scenery as they have this beautiful pool it has this nice outdoor feel to it. I just now know not to order any food and probably order a cider next time. Oh and donât dress too nice, the tables and chairs are very dusty. I know itâs outdoor but it wouldnât hurt if they could wipe a little when sitting down clients.
Thatâs it...
Read moreThe Eagles Beer Garden is a rustic bush pub with a lot of outside seating, including some under roof areas. We only visited for drinks, so I can't comment on the food, but our beers were nice and cold. However, I was slightly disappointed that a place called a "Beer Garden" had only one beer, Hansa Draft, on tap. They do have other beers in bottles, but it would have been great to have a more diverse selection of beers available on tap. Additionally, the service was average, which left room for improvement. One interesting aspect of this place is that it seems to be pet-friendly, as we saw people with their dogs enjoying the ambiance. Overall, if you are in the area it is...
Read moreThe place to be for Jamaican cuisine. Located just outside town, before getting to Avis Dam. It is an open air place with benches and tables under the shade. The structure appears to be still under renovation as some sections are not being utilised. Their pizza is outstanding as well as the traditional Jamaican meals. It's unfortunately not so child friendly as it functions as a beer garden. It would be great to cater for one looking for a good open air meal without having to contend with alcohol and cigarette smoke. The place is quite promising and I am watching for further...
