Considering where you are - high altitude, sub-alpine environment - this place is magical. The baked goodie and drink I tasted - a slice of chocolate cake + fresh ginger tea - were magical after a long day's trek in the cold, dry air and harsh temperatures, BUT - what is with the man (with the bright red puffy)'s attitude? I asked him a couple casual questions about the cafe/bakery and on the linguistic dynamics of Lang Tang and was met with a dismissiveness and demeanor that was quite a turn off. Later, I watched him interact with his colleague at the coffee shop - a younger female worker - never looking at her in the eye when talking, keeping his eyes on his phone while multitasking, and seemingly (since I don't know what they are saying) exerting an air of male-dominance over her. The person inside the cafe Lhakpa dai is charming and welcoming. The best thing in his cafe he served me was Apple Cake. I guess maybe it is not his best but I couldn't try his other recipes due to time constraints. Lhakpa dai, I promised you a detailed review and i have done it.
