Disappointing Experience: Not Worth the Hype
I recently visited this place after seeing a lot of buzz on TikTok and Instagram, but sadly, the experience was underwhelming.
The chicken thukpa was bland, it felt like Rara noodles poured into a bowl of lentils. It lacked the essential spices and tanginess you’d expect from a good thukpa. To make matters worse, the menu listed the price as Rs.180, but I was charged an extra Rs.45 for a lentil soup and a piece of aalu chop that were neither mentioned on the menu nor informed beforehand.
The chicken momo was no better. It was overcooked, with the wrapper falling apart. The filling was subpar, and they served only a half spoonful of momo achar. I had to ask multiple times for more achar. The quality and taste simply didn’t justify the price.

Read moreI tried their special Dharanko chicken thupka, chicken momo, chicken chowmein and chop... Honestly, it was one of the worst tasting foods I've ever had in my life ..The noodles in the thupka were too thick(quantity of soup was less) I remember one girl saying extra jhol vanne hudaina pugne jati dincham..and they packed way too less jhol for such thick noodles, it was flavourless.momo was okay not that special..... chicken chowmein was saltless ( basically flavourless)had to throw it away ..aalo chop was also not that good.....so disappointed...I feel like I fell for their fake social media promotion.... wouldn't recommend this place...
Read moreThis place felt very overhyped for thukpa. The noodles came in broken pieces, and the broth was bland—even a squeeze of lime couldn’t bring it to life. What was served hardly resembled authentic thukpa: just noodles dipped in a potato and chickpea curry with a few scraps of pork fat (about seven pieces) but barely any actual pork meat. Quite disappointing.
Overall, it did not quite reflect the authentic taste of Dharane thukpa that I was hoping for. I feel I may have to visit Dharan itself to truly enjoy the...
