Have visited the city today with family. Decided to to eat in this place because of high rating. Must admit the food was very-very delicious, my compliments to the chef. However the rest of the service despite the friendliness of the staff didn't work well: I was the only one who ordered first course, so the other 3 hungry people had to wait until I finish it. I'm surprised that nobody had noticed children of 6 and 9 and didn't offer us to bring their food together with my salad; the children and my wife had to wait 70+ minutes since we got a table and my first beer, and the restaurant was half empty; when main courses arrived I found my steak cold, so had to ask the waiter to warm it; when I got my warm steak (very tasty one!) I had to ask for a cutlery so I can start working on it. When I asked the staff why children don't get their plates the answer was "this is typical Dutch way of serving the food". Must admit after 16+ years of dining out in The Netherlands I find this sort of explanation nonsense. You might disagree with...
Read moreWe had dinner at 7evenden Hemel and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. When we arrived, we were quickly seated and started off with beer, and water. We decided to go with their 3-course surprise menu, and they were kind enough to accommodate our dietary preferences without any issues.
Our meal started with a delicious sardines served with fresh veggies, followed by a perfectly cooked salmon steak served with salad and veggies for the main course. For dessert, we had a rich and indulgent chocolate brownie, which was the perfect way to end the evening. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presentedâit was clear a lot of care went into the preparation.
The staff who looked after us were warm, friendly, and very attentive. They made sure everything went smoothly and that we had a great time. Between the cozy atmosphere, the fantastic food, and the excellent service, Iâd definitely recommend 7evenden Hemel to anyone looking for a special...
Read morePhone worked, email didnât. That speaks for itself. Emailed them â no reply. Picked up the phone, and suddenly everything worked. The ownerâs response here suggests I may have used the wrong address. I didnât. It was the same address I used systematically for many businesses, and silence was the result. A polite way of saying ânot our faultâ isnât the same as accountability. A restaurant that claims to be always reachable yet misses basic communication should consider that for many people â from locals to those displaced by wars such as in Ukraine â clarity and reliability are not optional extras, theyâre essentials. Three stars, because the food may be fine, but professionalism means answering when contacted, not shifting blame when you donât. (The owner suggested I may have used the wrong email address. I didnât â I used their published contact address, the same way I did with dozens of other businesses at that time. Silence was still...
