My Dutch friend & I (I am English) went into Jan de Groot Bakkerij, Stationsweg, s'Hertogenbosch today, Wednesday 8th August, at about 10.30a.m. There was no queue & only one free table, next to the toilets at the back. I sat down whilst my friend went into the toilet. When she came to join me at the table she said that she did not really want to sit right next to the toilet. So we went to the front of the shop to wait for the next available table. An assistant behind the counter told me that we had to go to the back of the queue! I explained to her that we were next in line as we had only sat at our table for a few minutes, but didn't want to sit next to the toilets. She said, "You had a table but you didn't want it so you have to go to the back of the queue"!! She was extremely rude & argued with me in front of a shop full of custmers for five minutes! I have never before been spoken to by a shop assistant in such a rude & aggressive manner!! I wish I had taken note of her name, as if I owned the Bakkerij then she definitely would not be working for me!!!! I will NEVER go in Jan de Groot again!!! She made me & my friend feel very upset & embarrassed in front of all those customers!! People like that should NOT be working with...

Get off at the train station. Walk half a block to this shop. Get the local specialty. Proceed to eat it along a main Street, overhear people mutter it's name as they pass you. Have a shopkeep offer you a spoon to eat it more delicately. Welcome to Den Bosch.

The Bossche bol does not disappoint. The cream is perfectly unsweet, avoiding the sogginess of plain whipped cream. The pastry layer is thinner than normal profiteroles, avoiding the anticipated squish mess. The chocolate layer is pliable and sticks to the pastry and melts in your mouth and makes it oh so sweet. Room temp is the way to go. I don't know if they make seasonal variations, but it would be heavenly to do some flavored creams, like strawberry or orange, or to sprinkle some things atop, like candy...

It's a backery for cakes, and sweet cookies, they became great by a specialisme called " Bossche bollen"thats a chocolat Ball filled with whipcream, but in my opinion this place isn't that great anymore these days,if commercie hits in,it isn't always good for business, it isn't what it's used to be anymore, maybe they can turn everything around if they everything around for there business, like a new inventory a new lay out, and update everything for a new future, maybe to make everything more warm,if you come in it's just a cold place, but it's just my opinion, the "Bossche Bollen" are still good, and maybe they also can make more things for people with allergees, that for sure somethingthey have to think about, speciallyfor a business...

Almost a 100 years family bakery! The Bosch balls are really special and delicious. The thickness of the chocolate layer is perfect! ( most of the time, the supermarkets or other bakeries’ Bosch balls are with too thick layer and too sweet). The prices are also reasonable. It’s a nice experience to sit inside to taste their Bosch balls with a cup of tea/coffee. I also bought several Bosch balls afterwards to enjoy at home. The only bad experience is one of the young lady at the store, she was a bit rude and unfriendly. Otherwise I’d for sure give it a 5 stars.

The stoplight to indicate whether there is space to sit or not is a cute touch. I recommend going upstairs to eat if there is space because it is very pretty up there. The chicken panini was really good. Flavourful and juicy, simple yet tastes great. The bossche bol was the highlight of the visit of course, very light with the cream and the dark chocolate covering was the right amount of sweetness. We went around lunch time on Sunday and wasn't too busy, we waited maybe 10 minutes max but the queue goes quick enough.
