Brasserie Bolwerk may not have written me an essay in response, but they did something far rarer in today’s world — they acknowledged my review with a simple, genuine thank-you. Nice place near Den Bosch Centraal. It’s at the river and probably attached to some kind of museum??

It was pretty busy for a sunny Thursday afternoon and it took the staff quite some time to get to us. We originally decided to go there to use the bathroom and gave a quick drink but after both of us using the toilet and still not getting any service we decided to stay and enjoy the sunshine.

Had a beer and talked about life as the place around us only got busier with more people.

There are ducks and geese that swim right up to shore.

To save us some time I walked in and paid for our drinks, as it seems that it was too busy to get the attention of the servers.

Typical example of expectation vs reality; looks good from the outside but I wouldn’t really recommend it for eating, maybe for drinks only. I asked for a lemonade (which I expected to be made from lemons) and it was just water with flavored liquid, I also asked my dish without any dressings and I received it with them. The waiter was nice with us and understood about the lemonade and did not charge for it but I have to admit that it bothered me the fact that when I complained about my issues, she always said that I should have said it from the beginning 🙄 No dear, the staff should get it...
