Tried to reach out via WhatsApp — not exactly an unusual channel these days — but the silence was total. No reply, no courtesy, not even a “sorry, we’re busy, come back later.” For a café that trades on atmosphere and welcome, you would think basic communication would be part of the package. It leaves the impression that either messages are being ignored, or no one is keeping an eye on their own contact details. Neither option does the place any favours. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but when a simple enquiry goes unanswered, it makes you wonder how seriously they take their guests. As someone of Ukrainian origin, I can’t help but hope this silence isn’t down to where I come from — though I’d prefer to think it’s mere inattentiveness rather than anything more unpleasant. Still, whatever the reason, the end result is the same: a guest left with questions, and a business that missed the simplest chance to show courtesy. Read moreUnfortunately we did not like many things. First of all the coffees were bad and almost zero vegan food options existed (a soup and a burger only. I am not sure about the cakes). A non-vegan tosti that a friend took was tasty. Additionally the toilet and the cafe itself were quite dirty. Lastly, it was quite noisy (coming from the kitchen)and the waiter kept whistling which can be irritating at times (at least for me :) ).
