Look, I want this place to succeed, I really do. The atmosphere is great, the sunset views are spectacular, the design is tasteful, and someone has clearly put thought and care into the food and drink menu. I stay at the hotel for a few weeks at a time every couple of months and I’ve seen the menu evolve over the past year from a la carte, to tasting menus, to small plates. The concepts are solid but unfortunately this restaurant is good at everything except actually being a restaurant. Execution is their main issue and it’s really just a lot of little things that sour the experience. You’ll consistently spend 2+ hours here, not because you want to, but because the service and kitchen are painstakingly slow. In no world is it acceptable to sit at the bar on a not that busy weekday night and have an empty glass for 20+ min before someone notices and checks in on you. You can expect to wait over 30 min between courses, and it seems like the waitstaff are more preoccupied with meticulously cleaning and stacking glassware by hand one by one rather then checking in on guests. In my most recent visit, my server forgot to put in half my order and then I subsequently watched them clock out, say goodbyes to the staff and straight up leave without so much as looking in my direction.
And to be fair to them, it seems like the waitstaff also pull double duty as bartenders and also bus their own tables… but still, if you’re going to charge premium prices you need to meet a bare minimum level of service and speed. There just seems to be a lot of inefficiencies and a lack of urgency between the waitstaff and kitchen.
I don’t know if it’s just a cultural thing, inexperienced staff, a lack of leadership and training, or all of the above - but it’s really disappointing when the rest of the hotel operates at a much higher level and this place consistently falls short of the mark. Especially since they’ve closed the other restaurant in the hotel lobby that offered a much better experience at half the price.
I hate to leave a negative review but I’ve probably visited 7+ times over the last year and have had consistently mediocre experiences. I hope they take this as constructive criticism, like I said I really want this place to succeed and I hope they make some changes for the better - but i can’t recommend this place in its...
Read moreFood was good. Menu is very limited. I tried dorade fish, it was delicious and huge portions. Prices are affordable for a rooftop restaurant. Service was ok, when we ordered starter, we asked 2 plates for 2 people. Of course, they forgot to bring 2 plates and we waited min 5 minutes for our plates.. anyways, we were there for my husband’s birthday and I was planning to order a cake for his birthday. We did not like the dessert menu, but they served Martini to my husband which was a good compliment :) you should definitely visit this restaurant in summer time for a...
Read moreMediocre food, bad service. Waited 1.5 hours for the appetizer, another 30-45 minutes for the main course. When asked when the food was coming out the waiter said “soon” and left. They did give us free dessert to compensate for the wait but then we also had to wait 30 more minutes for them. A few stuff we ordered didn’t arrive but showed up on the bill. Only the dessert were delicious and worth the price on the menu.
Overall, a costly bad experience on both...
