De Stip is truly an institution in Den Bosch. The atmosphere make this place an embodiment of 'gezellig' in Den Bosch.
With little over 30 seats available (indoors) and not taking reservations, demand to eat here is high. Luckily service is also very swift. They do not have a menu at the table. Instead they have their dishes written on blackboards on the walls. There is also no drinks menu available.
They only have a few tables so you might be seated next to strangers. If you want to have a private conversation or a quiet meal, this might not be the best place for you.
You might have to wait before being seated for a meal, but the wait is worth it.
You get free salad and potato fries served with any meal. The salad has bacon bits in it, so if you want it to be vegetarian you should let the staff know.
I highly recommend the spare ribs, however it was a shame that the spare ribs were drenched in sweet chili sauce. The dishes are also fairly salty.

Read moreI have to say we went there by accident. First of all, this place looks cosily cluttered. I don't mind. It's quite cool if you like this kind of climate. Food was OK. Nice portion, quite big and not very expensive. Not very sophisticated cuisine but good and fair. I really like my tenderloin in pepper sauce (it was a white pepper thought... Interesting!). Why then only two stars? Staff have earned this, unfortunately. Waiters running around with insane eyes. I'm ordering a drink, I didn't get it. I ordered it twice. But I was ignored twice. And then the best came. We finished eating the main course. We want to order a drink and the waiter replies that if we don't eat dessert we can go because they need a table for new guests. Not nice.
All this nice experience was gone. Without this I would probably got you more stars and never even mantioned a dirty toilet (I was twice - not clean at first and second time). But yet I...
Read moreEetcafé De Stip has that classic charm of a place right in the centre — easy to find and hard to leave. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, ideal for both casual conversations and simply watching the world go by. It’s the kind of spot that invites you to slow down, enjoy your time, and feel part of the scene. A comfortable, pleasant place with a good vibe all around. Thank you as well for the kind response — it’s always nice when a business takes the time to acknowledge a review. I look forward to visiting one day, and I’d certainly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming café atmosphere in the heart...
