Het Viswijf — Restaurant in 's-Hertogenbosch

My encounter with this restaurant is a little strange. I was walking around this town when my cell phone battery ran dry, however I needed to phone urgently. I entered here and asked mostly cried, "Please let me use your restaurant phone." It was the only way, but the male staff kindly lent me a phone and even handed me a notepad. Thanks to you, the problem was solved immediately, and it was very helpful. As a little thankfullness, I promised to come back for dinner tomorrow, but the kind male staff was absent unfortunately. The food at this restaurant is very delicious. Also for a troubled foreigner like me, how grateful I am to have someone who understands the situation and treats me kindly. I don't know his name, but thank you very much. Since I was traveling alone, I didn't eat as much as I could contribute as a guest, but I will definitely revisit with my friends next time. Absolutely amazing food, super fresh fish and seafood prepared in unique ways. We had 5 course menu and couldn't have a desert as the starters and main was so big :) but so super tasty. Great selection of wine too! The staff were really nice and created a very nice athmosphere. So why 4 stars for service and ambience. I loved the place but we were there on Friday night and it was packed with people. It was very loud so if you are counting on a quiet dinner for two it's not Friday for sure 😉 also we had to wait quite long for the starters (over 40 minutes) they apologised when the starters came but we didn't know whats happening. Emailed them — no reply at all. Only after I picked up the phone did I get a response, and even then I was oddly asked to send over a CV instead of a straight answer. For a seafood restaurant, one expects freshness in service as well as on the plate, and this missed the mark. Three stars is the fair rating.
