Great authentic food but with a high price tag.
The menu is short: there are only 13 main courses on the menu. Luckily this does mean that all of these dishes have had the time and attention of the chef to be developed into the amazing flavours that you want to see in arab cuisine.
Although the dishes have amazing flavours, the portion size is small, especially considering the high price for each dish.
We ordered the two most popular main dishes, both of which were €19,50. One dish merely had 3 pieces of meat (and a heap of spiced rice). The starters were also expensive considering the small portions.
For a cuisine that prides itself in affordability while still packing amazing flavours, this restaurant definitely ends up in the high-price-bracket.
The service was fairly slow to take our orders and clear our table, but that is also because there seemed to be only two waiters for the entire restaurant, even though the restaurant was packed quite full. As main dish we tried the tikka chiken which was really moist and spices at the perfect level really a nice and unexpected taste. I had never tried the kunefe dessert but I liked it a lot. It was not that sweet so it was perfect for me. The service was also very good. The ice cream with cardamom was really good. I will definitely come and try the rest of the menu.
Edit: We have come so many times to the restaurant and it is very consistent in the flavor. It is always great. The tikka kip is our favourite dish and all desserts in the menu are great. Our favourite restaurant...
Read moreIrakees Restaurant Bagdad looks like a lovely and welcoming place. I haven’t had the chance to try their food yet, but from what I’ve seen, it gives a strong first impression. The interior feels warm and inviting, and from the outside, it stands out as a proper place for those who enjoy good Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine — like I do. The menu appears to offer a rich variety of dishes, and it’s the kind of setting where you can just relax and enjoy the atmosphere. If the food tastes as good as the place looks, I’ll happily return and add that fifth star. For now, a confident and...
