Solid restaurant. It has its own authentic atmosphere. The food is great, but don’t come with a tight agenda because good food takes time. I think it’s family-run, so there were just two people working: one at the tables and the other in the kitchen. The food is great; we tried a lot of the cold starters (mezzeh) with bread: barba, mouhamara, tabbouleh, and zaalouk (the last one was an absolute favorite). We ordered almost all the tajine variations to try: Tajine Samira was my favorite; tajine asemek was the least favorite (the fish was dry and overcooked).

Probably the only relevant negative point is the reservation system. It seems to be possible to reserve online, but there’s two websites, so you don’t know which one you should use. Regardless of which one we use, the reservations aren’t followed up, so we never got a confirmation. We called and made the reservation over the telephone and in the end everything was fine.

Absolutely loved the feeling and atmosphere of the place. Only had to wait a little bit for the food to be hand prepared on demand while listening to beautiful music.

After enjoying the delicious food, the chef came over to ask how everything was and to explain a bit on how he created the dish which I thought was super fun and thoughtful.

Oké daar gaan we dan, we gaan een keer echt Marrokaans eten. Voor mij de eerste keer.

Mijn bezoek aan La Cocotte overtrof alle verwachtingen.

De gerechten waren een ware reis door Marokko: mooi gepresenteerd, puur van smaak, en met een perfecte balans tussen traditioneel en verfijnd. Elke hap was een ontdekking, vol rijke kruiden en authentieke smaken. Het was duidelijk dat er met liefde en vakmanschap werd gekookt, wat de gerechten extra bijzonder maakte.

Wat deze ervaring echt compleet maakte, was de top bediening. Het personeel was hartelijk, attent en goed geïnformeerd over de menukaart. Super tof was ook dat de eigenaar die in de keuken staat zelf even de tijd nam om bij de tafels langs te lopen. Dat persoonlijke contact gaf een gevoel van gastvrijheid dat je niet snel vergeet. Het was mooi om te zien dat de eigenaar trots is op zijn keuken en dat hij zijn passie graag deelt met gasten.
