NUL73 Lunch en Diner Café — Restaurant in 's-Hertogenbosch

Had a good time with friends here on a Saturday night. The location is great both inside and on the terrace. Sitting next to an old church has its own charm! The menu has an interesting mix of dishes. You can get a burger or Thai curry on the same page. Great presentation as you can see in the other images. The staff were certainly enthusiastic to get us drinks from the get go and grab our plates before we are truly done eating. (perhaps this is a cultural issue) Otherwise service was good. The food wasn't great. There was a lot going on the plate with some basics missing; less salt in all the dishes, the fries included. Unfortunately there was no salt and pepper available on the table and the staff were missing when we dug in. We continued eating to at least catch the warmt of the food. Both the stadd and us perhaps had to meet halfway to make the food taste better. The menu has some interesting options to choose from. The thinly sliced beetroot was, as it says, thinly sliced. To contrast this we ordered the richly filled salad to test their language and, as expected, we were disappointed by the richness of the filling. Perhaps calling it a mixed salad would lower expectations. In the end, perhaps my personal experience wasn't great. I sent a polite email with a straightforward question but, at first, received no response at all. It felt as though they were disengaged before any engagement even began. A small effort in communication would have made a very different impression, yet instead there was silence — disappointing for a business in hospitality. To their credit, the management later responded publicly with a courteous and thoughtful message, expressing genuine concern and inviting me to resend my email so they could resolve the matter properly. That follow-up shows professionalism and a willingness to take responsibility, which I do appreciate. Hopefully it was just an isolated misstep rather than a reflection of their usual standard of service. Three stars — a fair middle ground for now, with potential to rise should that same care be reflected consistently in their direct customer communication. A nice and cozy place. With really good decor and ambience. The best place to sit is definitely their super nice garden. The food really triggers your taste buds. The bread served as a pre-starter is super fresh and served hot along with its sides of vegan pesto, garlic butter which made it a good start of the night. The swordfish starter was out of the world and was made more appetizing because of its presentation. The main dish of roodbaarsfilet with potato gratang and fish cookie was also presented really well and was up to taste. A bit more of sause and the fish cookie being warmer would have made the dish even more amazing. Overall the restaurant stands out for it's food and ambience.
