Restaurant Le Bateau — Restaurant in 's-Hertogenbosch

This place is incredible. We were walking around looking for this one restaurant on the corner that was highly rated but they don't take reservations and we couldn't sit down so we decided to keep walking. Well little did we know but just around the corner was the most amazing nautical bar. We went in for a drink and ended up staying for dinner. The best oysters I've ever tasted, freshly picked by the chef himself that morning, tasting like the sea herself. Each course was unique and satisfied all the senses. The most important being taste. Surrounded by nautical memorabilia and artifacts collected over the last 25 years since opening day, it placated to the youth in me who was curious about pirates, the ocean, and the unknown. Everything was very tasty and the atmosphere was great, the service was exceptional! However, even considering all of the above, the prices were high for the portion size we got. In similar restaurants in Eindhoven and Tilburg I always spend less per person and the portions are bigger. This restaurant offers slightly better quality than the restaurants I am comparing to, however some of us left the restaurant hungry due to the small portions. In my opinion, 5 stars would be inaccurate for a restaurant where we spent 40-50 euros per person and left hungry, no matter what...

My email went unanswered, but when I phoned they responded politely and even suggested a meeting. That sort of courtesy deserves recognition, though it would have been smoother if the email had been acknowledged in the first place.
