I know that when we went and ate there were problems with the service (understaffed), I will not go into that too much since that could not be helped.
Overall, it was okay. We came in early when it wasn't busy yet, but when the place got busier it became very noisy. At the end of the evening (we came it around 6 and left around 8:45 which was very late) we were just tired from all the noise. If you want a nice and more calm dinner then this is not a recommended place.
I do recommend you make reservations because this place is busy, very busy!
That said, the people I think this restaurant is best suited for are those who like to eat big portions of everything, people who dislike vegetables and would rather just eat carbs. Because that is what we thought after we were done eating: it was all mainly carbs (meats, potatos, rice, fried things, bread). There was hardly any vegetable in sight anywhere.
We ordered a mixed plate of warm appetisers and it was enough food that we were not really hungry for our mains. Which is an odd thing to mention, but I feel there is a lot of food being wasted at this place. We were not the only people who mentioned feeling overly full after just our appetisers, the 4 people sitting at the table next to us mentioned the same, and a third table (people who were friends of us) mentioned being full also (they had a chef's menu). The portion was simply too large and of the warm appetisers mix everything except for 1 out of 4 dishes was all fried.
As for our mains. We had the spareribs and lamb chops. The spareribs were actually pretty good (and new on the menu), it came with some potatoes, some rice (delicious btw), and some vegetables.
The lamb chops however, I don't know if this was because my order was wrong (I had to wait 30min for my food whilst my companion was already eating, and I feel like this must be mentioned, but we were waiting at least an hour between our appetiser and main courses because of a backed up kitchen), but it came with so much rice and potatoes. It was about 3x as much as my companion was given on her dish and such a waste. After eating an appetiser the size of a main course, all those extra carbs were not needed at all. I think it would've been better to allow people to order the sidedishes for the entire table instead of including them in such quantity with every meal.
As for the lamb itself, it was okay. The quality of meat was okay but there was also a lot of salt in the spices used. Our mains also came with no sauces, I am again not sure if this is because things were going wrong in the kitchen or if that was normal.
Overall, it wasn't as relaxing as we had hoped. The place is loud, especially when packed and everyone just seemed very chaotic. I know this was partly because they were understaffed, but that vibe was very noticeable in everything being done: orders mistaken, I've seen a lot of beers being drained in the sink for being written down in the wrong size, kitchen backed up and so on.
The owner was very apologetic and offered us a free drink at the end, but honestly we were so exhausted (we had been there for almost 3 hours at that point because of delays in the kitchen and errors) that we just wanted to leave. The free drink felt kind of like how you Dutch say "mosterd na de maaltijd", especially after spending over 100,- for two people for a not-so-good experience for what should have been a celebratory dinner.
Would we visit again? I don't think we will, but that is mainly because I like some variation in terms of food and this restaurant is mainly a grill-house. The cold appetisers looked great, but everything else was mainly deep fried, grilled meats and combined with bread, fried potatoes and rice, and as few greens as possible.
There were salads on the menu as appetiser, but it would've been way too much food if we had one of those AND the mains we had ordered.
Like said, this is for people who like to eat loads and who generally don't like vegetables. If you have picky eaters then this is a place well...

Read morePlace is super nice and cozy. Service, excellent. Food is great!! I will keep coming if I can. I suggest to people to ask for a reference of proportions, because indeed is a lot of food, specially if you are not used to this. I recommend to try 1-2 starters to share and then ask for a main dish (or just stay with either the starters or just the main dish) to avoid waste. But you can also take it with you if you cannot finish your meal. I think options are...
