Tourist trap. Beware! They know they are the only choice on that part of the island, the service is terrible. Arrogant looking english speaking people, that can show no smile to a customer. If you do not ike your job, quit. The prices are not cheap and it doesnt match the service at all. I choose to spend my hard earned money in place like this, only to be served by unhappy, miserable people. We had no choice but to stay as there is nothing else in the neighbourhood. Low standards, low quality service. Staff is too ignorant to see the difference between a table that orders 2 tea and a apple pie, instead of a table that spends 80 euro lunch. Cold chicken on the salad. Beer glas chipped, flies everywhere, unhappy staff that are too miserable to share a smile to a paying customer. No problem, no smile, no tip for you buddy and I take comfort in the fact that staff needs to go back there everyday and I can go wherever I want the next day. Miserable, envious people that look down on someone that trough hard work made a good life for himself. Anyone reading this, if you have any descent standard, do not go there. Place is way overrated. I was at this place 7 years ago and 3 years ago and it was nice one. Beautiful location and view. Now update...so bad. Now is just - nice view, nice location...so bad service, bad coffee and really, really expensive (we travel a lot so this was like Paris, New York price). We got like Senseo coffee, my cappuccino was just water...like cold milk in Senseo coffee...I really do not understand. They brought filty cups and they spill coffee on table...I told him "can you pls just wipe that coffee a bit and he did and spill again...". I do not remember last time we had so bad service. They are bringing first cakes and then coffee...like 10 min between. The best seats are "reserved" and it was almost half empty. So we couldn't drink next to view point, and nobody came in that 30 min. I do not recommend this place. Just keep walking😄 Ameland has so so good Caffès and restaurants ... this is not one of them. Price range is criminal - like the best seat in Amsterdam...just no, no. 2 stars because of view and old memories that this place use to be good...if I can I...

A lot of anticipation and massive disorganised disappointment. We wanted to have dinner at this place, tried to plan ahead but the website did not have capability to book tables, we even asked our hotel (WestCord) and the reception staff told me it was not possible or there was no need to book a table. When we arrived, the restaurant staff told us most of the main courses (including much anticipated fish courses) were not available unless you had a reservation, they then made us wait in the middle of the eating area for 10 minutes while they worked out if they had an available table. It turns out they only had sofas available if we waited for 15 minutes and all their proper seating was booked up. We decided to not carry on with this disorganised torture of awful customer service.
