Strandpaviljoen Ballum — Restaurant in Ameland

Pretentious place with pretentious prices. But fish was undercooked (sent back but cook denied there was a problem), salad was lame concoction with bland flavour. We should have been warned by the fact that this place was empty during easter holiday, while you could not make a reservation anywhere else as those were fully booked. Also some of the other negative reviews here, turned out to be accurate. Unbelievable that this place is not flourishing, it is on one of the best spots at the widest beach you will ever see. If you want to enjoy in good coffee on the beach this is the place. They have such a nice menu and food is super 👌. We had cappuccino with oat milk and coffee, apple pie was so fresh and good. Their menu is really good for people with food allergies and vegan. They have multiple options and you can ask them about everything. Place is clean and service is top-top. One of the best "beach cafe/restaurant" on Ameland. Price range is really good. Worth of ever euro. 5 starts...

Expensive and bad quality

We went to the Starndpaviljoen like a week ago and it was the worst experience on Ameland. For 40+€ we got some really nasty Bitterballen, that were nearly cold, three beer, that weren't even full and the worst piece of cheesecake in the history of cheesecake.
